FAQ

What does Neo Boudoir mean?

It is an emerging art form that combines the beauty and elegance of classic boudoir photography with a modern, neo-gothic twist. This style of photography is perfect for anyone who wants to capture their unique sense of style and personality.

Neo boudoir photography is all about pushing the boundaries and taking risks. If you are looking for something different and exciting, then this type of session is definitely for you!

I love the idea of Neo Boudoir, but don't want to be fully naked?

Boudoir is not only about taking your clothes off, it's about finding your comfort within your own body and letting it shine. I work with your comfort levels.

Often the neo element can be combined with portraits rather than boudoir. Think 1920's, Old Hollywood Glamour, Forest Nymph or Roller Skates and Bubblegum. This type of session will only be limited by your own imagination.

Combined with creative lighting and the right posing, you will find the essence of you.

I don't know how to pose!

You don't need to. This is why you have chosen a professional photographer. I will be here to guide you and ensure we capture flattering images no matter how unphotogenic you "think" you are.

When do Newborn Sessions take place?

Most newborn sessions take place within the first 7-14 days after the baby is born. At this stage I can pose your baby in those sleepy curled up positions that you will see in my portfolio. After two weeks it is still possible to photograph your newborn however, babies tend to be less sleepy and want to stretch out, so certain poses might not be possible.

What should I wear for photos with my new baby?

In this case the best advice I can give is, less is more. Sticking with neutral or soft colors is always a good idea. Try to avoid loud patterns or parents wearing clashing colours. You don’t want your clothing to overshadow your cute little baby. Think soft cozy materials and most importantly wear what is comfortable. Remember you've just had a baby!

Can you copy or re-create this picture I saw on Pinterest?

While I enjoy seeing what types of images you get excited about, I cannot outright copy another photographer’s work. That is their art and style and it is my hope that you are hiring me for my art and my style. Additionally, not every baby will do every pose. It is critically important to me that your baby is safe and comfortable at all times. What one baby will do easily may not be possible for your baby without fussing and discomfort. We will still get beautiful images regardless. It is my hope that I can create something unique and beautiful for each of my clients. It’s fantastic to draw inspiration from other photographers and I welcome you to find two or three images you absolutely love to share with me. Feel free to browse through my Portfolio for images you love as well. That will ensure that I have a clear understanding of your expectations.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm West Sussex based in UK and yes I love to travel! However most of the Portraits and Neo Boudoir sessions are better based in Studio.

If you want me to photograph you in a agreed location other than my studio, it will require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place.

If the location is a venue which requires site fees, the cost of these fees will be added to your account.

When will I get my images?

Your will receive an online proofing gallery link within 2 weeks of your session (sometimes sooner).

You will then select your final images for retouching based on the package you have chosen.

Once you have selected your final images I will complete the final retouching and you will receive your full high resolution gallery within a maximum of 3 weeks.

How will my gallery be delivered?

Your gallery will be delivered via a online secure link straight to your email.

You will be able to download your gallery in both high resolution (ready for print) and web size (ready for social media).

During my food photography session, what other expenses will the shoot incur?

Remember I am a photographer! As much as I understand what looks good in a photo there is a reason that professional food stylists exist. To get the most out of your session I would always recommend a stylish, use of a great graphic designer and a clear brief on what the shoot is for.

Can you shoot my entire menu in four hours?

The most direct answer is NO!
There is far more that goes into setting up, styling, lighting and getting that perfect shot than you can imagine. Realistically you are looking at only about four to five dishes for a whole days work. This will entirely depend on the brief and what we need to capture.

I'm only a small start up, why should I invest in professional photos?

Whether it’s for your website, printed materials, or social media, appealing and professional photography will make your business seem more reputable. Ultimately, you are your brand. Having professional imagery reflects the essence of your goods and services. Eye appeal is buy appeal and it tells potential clients you are operating with a level of professionalism and dedication to quality.
